A comforter (in American English), next known as a doona in Australian English,[1] or a continental quilt (or handily quilt) or duvet in English, is a type of bedding made of two lengths of fabric or covering sewn together and filled similar to insulative materials for warmth, traditionally all along or feathers, wool or cotton batting, silk, or polyester and additional beside different fibers. in the same way as quilts, comforters are generally laid on top of a summit bed sheet (and sometimes as a consequence blankets). Duvets are another form of quilt, traditionally filled in the manner of feathers, even though previously the late 20th century often made of synthetic fibres or beside alternatives.

Some sets have a duvet and duvet cover (more popular in Europe) in place of a comforter and summit sheet. More deluxe sets may combine a bed skirt and pillows.
